  Nov 04,  · The Complete Live at the Plugged Nickel set is my favourite, but the Miles Davis in Stockholm –Complete 4CD-set on the Swedish Dragon label is a close second. Fantastic playing, especially by John Coltrane on the first two CDs (Sonny Stitt replaced Coltrane on the rest of the set). Reply

  Nov 03,  · Water Babies is one of Miles Davis' best albums imo. "Sweet Pea" and "Two-Faced" are two of the very best things ever recorded by Miles. Sublime and top-notch. A Miles collection is pathetically incomplete without those two classics! Reply

The set was recorded at the same concert as the album My Funny Valentine – and while that one's mostly ballads, this one's mostly high tempo numbers that skip along with incredible ease – crackling with modern touches on the rhythm from Herbie Hancock, Ron Brand: Columbia (Label).   Columbia responded by recording these live gigs – releasing the material as the albums “Miles In Antibes”, “Miles In Europe”, “My Funny Valentine” and “Four and More” and, bringing these last two albums together as a double CD, “The Complete Concert, ”. Reply

  The whole is much more than the sum of its incredible parts here, and that is why this concert was so great, and why this album belongs in any Miles Davis lover's collection. I bought the LP some 40 years ago, and the playing sounds as fresh and luminous as it did back then. There were reviews of "Kind of Blue" and 3 of this album/5(25). Reply
